Once again, I'm opening this entry with a song that I've been playing and over-playing the last week or so. No, I'm not a green day fan, but this song describes my life...and probably most seniors lives right now.
I heard back from Meredith this past week. I did not get accepted into the honors program...I'm actually relieved. I didn't want to have to make that decision of whether to accept or turn them down. I can re-apply in the spring if I want to, but I haven't made that decision yet or not.
I've been stressed to the hilt lately. I didn't quite know how bad it was until this past week, when I realized that I have been uptight ever since the school year started. I keep saying to myself "only 61 more days. Only 8 and a half more weeks." But then I realized that I've let stress define my life, and instead of giving my stress and anxiety to God, I've taken it all upon myself.
It's hard to believe that senior year is almost over. High school has been incredibly tough, but at the same time it's been an amazing thing. There are so many memories that stretch over the last four years. Conversations and jokes in the lobby, late night IM conversations, parties, CWIS in the summer, theatre shows, and yes, even the drama throughout everything was a blessing in disguise. I've met the most amazing people, and many of them have become my dearest and closest friends. I'm so excited to be going into this next phase of life together.
And so, once again, I'll leave you with the lyrics to "Time of Your Life" by Green Day:
Another turning point;
a fork stuck in the road.
Time grabs you by the wrist;
directs you where to go.
So make the best of this test
and don't ask why.
It's not a question
but a lesson learned in time.
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
So take the photographs
and still frames in your mind.
Hang it on a shelf
In good health and good time.
Tattoos of memories
and dead skin on trial.
For what it's worth,
it was worth all the while.
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
(music break)
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

I hope you had the time of your life

I LOVE THAT SONG!!!
I like to harmonize w/ it, too. It's one of those really nice songs to harmonize with.
